About
BYOB stands for Bring Your Own Bottle, a concept detergent store that is promoting the 3R concepts (Reuse, Recycle and Reduce) Bring your own bottle and we will fill it up saving you money and saving mother earth too!

Mission
Our mission is to educate the society about the dangers of plastic pollution and to stop them from treating plastic bottles as rubbish. Made using our precious petroleum, plastic bottles takes more than 400 years to fully biodegrade. Did you know that plastic bottles were only created a little over a century ago? This means that every plastic bottle ever made ( apart from the few that were incinerated) still exists and are probably in landfills or the ocean.

Recycling doesn’t really work when it comes to plastic bottles, downcycling is the correct word to use because all those bottles you put up for recycling has been downcycled to lower grade plastic products rather than recycled into plastic bottles. But that isn’t the main concern, the process involved in downcycling plastic involves additional carbon footprint ( transportation from recycling factories, electricity needed to blend them into smaller size granule before melting them down completely).
Recycling is also a very expensive process. It costs an average of USD4,000 to recycle plastic into a product worth about USD30. A large portion of plastic that is "recycled" actually gets sent to China and India, where workers burn it, sending plastic particulate into the air, which is even worse than it sounds. This is not to discount recycling as an idea, but our current infrastructure is not set up to recycle effectively.

So the question here would be, why waste all those additional resources and further polluting our eco-system just to turn (downcycle) a readily useable plastic bottle into some cheaper plastic product?

Not only this, but plastic is literally poisoning our bodies. There are a few "ingredients" to plastic, such as bisphenol-A and phthalates, which leak out of the plastic and into whatever liquid or food item that is touching it. These chemicals have been shown to cause various problems, mainly cancer and birth defects.

With these facts in mind, why is it people still treating plastics as some kind of disposable products?

As such, we encourage all of you to REUSE your plastic bottles at our refill stations. Don’t throw away your plastic bottles just to buy more, bring them to our shop and pay for what you need – the detergents!

BYOB is where we prove to you that being ecofriendly does not necessary mean it’s going to cost you more. Reuse your bottles to help save Mother Nature and your money too!
